How to install Mandrakelinux 10.1 on IBM X206

Installation

Mandrake installer automatically recognizes all hardware. There is nothing to say: it simply works within a few minutes.

SATA

IBM X206 is based on ata_piix chipset.

RAID

IBM X206 uses a so-called software RAID controller. (Adaptec HostRAID). Linux's software RAID (kernel "md" driver) is much faster and more reliable than the RAID provided the Adaptec HostRAID controller. Therefore, we do not use it.
